CAMBRIDGE
Cambridge is an enjoyable place, in England, to spend a few weeks,
especially during the summer months. - Cambridge's name comes,
perhaps not surprisingly, from the fact that it is a bridge over the
river Cam. The Cam passes through some of the colleges and the
area. known as the backs, was elegantly landscaped in the eighteenth
century. - The main pastime for visitors is to go punting on the river:
you can either go through "the backs", admire the colleges or else
head out into the countryside, mooring at such lovely riverside villages
as Grantchester.
Cambridge has a population of 109.700 but it is one of the fastest growing
cities in Europe, largely thanks to its high-tech industries attracted by the
university. A seat of learning since medieval times, Cambridge also has a
large number of language schools. There is a reasonable amount of night
life as well as numerous university-related events.
Cambridge is 80 minutes by train from London's Liverpool Street Station.

you may have to work harder.
The move comes despite a decision by other leading universities including Oxford to reject the A* amid fears it will lead to a huge rise in the number of teenagers from independent and grammar schools being admitted.
